I am notorious for putting on makeup but never actually having plans to go out. Or I will have plans to go out, but it’ll be a small hangout with friends at someone’s house and my face will be beat to the heavens. Today is one of those days. The only thing I’ve done differently from my regular, everyday routine is eyeshadow! I honestly have no idea what I’m doing but I think the result came out pretty decent, and hopefully in the future I’ll feel more adventurous with colours. (PS the quality of these pictures kills me too, I couldn’t find my camera so I had to use my phone lol)

I used an eyeshadow trio from City Color for the majority of this look, in the colour “Falling Leaves” (I got this from the January ipsy glam bag, so I don’t know where you can purchase this in stores, but you can order it online here). It has one matte shade and two shimmer shades. I think for beginners like me, trios, quads or palettes are perfect because you get more than one shadow. You never have to worry about what colours will look good together because the colours in the palette will usually all look good together, and will add to the illusion that you actually know what you’re doing (even if you don’t). Anyways, I just used my Loreal True Match concealer as an eyeshadow primer and then used the matte brownish orange shade all over the lid, making sure to blend! If there’s one thing I know about eyeshadow, it’s that harsh lines are no bueno. (But honestly, if you like that look then I fully support you! I’m not here to tell you how to wear your makeup, just want to show you how I do mine (: )

img_0546After that I went into the crease and outer part of my lid with the colour Espresso from the Lorac Pro palette, just for some definition. This is my sister’s palette and she got it a couple years ago from the States, so once again, I don’t know where you can buy it in stores in Canada. Sorry! (But can we seriously talk about how pretty all these colours are! Ugh. Get this palette if you ever have the chance, I feel like soo many pretty looks can be made from just this palette alone). Then I used the lighter brown shimmery shade from the Falling leaves trio in the middle on my lid, and blended it outwards. I like this little pop of shimmer because I think it makes the look a bit more interesting and gives your eye more dimension, and not as flat as it would look if I only used matte shades. Then I just used Black from the Lorac palette for eyeliner, mainly because I ran out of my usual liquid Loreal Telescopic liquid liner. But I think the softness of the eyeshadow works really well with this look because it adds on to how natural the eyeshadow looks (if that makes sense?)

My lashes are the Ardell Baby Wispies, which I have been LOVING lately. I’ve just gotten back into wearing fake lashes again (you guys, I legit used to wear the thickest, heaviest most dramatic lashes every. single. day. in high school and one day I just stopped and I’ve been scarred from wearing them ever since haha) I think these are the perfect everyday falsies for me because they add the perfect amount of length, not too much drama and are just overall very natural looking. LOL the complete opposite of what most people wear fake lashes for, but oh well.

Then I just did the rest of my face as I normally would on any other day! Primed with the Laneige Lumi Block Primer which is another thing I stole from my sister haha. I really like this because it smells amazing and it’s korean. You know koreans are at the top of the skin care food chain, so you know that this is a great primer.I used my all time favourite foundation, Maybelline Fit me! Matte and Poreless, in the shade 310 – Sun Beige. This is my favourite because it gives me the perfect amount of coverage (you can always layer if you want full coverage), looks flawless and does a really good job of keeping me matte.

img_0527Did my brows with the one and only ABH Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown, highlighted my cheek bones, nose bridge and brow bone with Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop (For someone who loves Jaclyn Hill as much as I do, I’m so late to the Champagne Pop party. But this is seriously the only highlighter I will use now), contoured with NYX Matte Bronzer in the shade Medium, and set it all with E.L.F.’s Makeup Mist & SetI’ve been using a setting spray instead of powder lately because I haven’t been as oily as I normally am, so I don’t need to set my makeup with powder, and I love the dewy, natural look I get when I use the spray. I also think it just makes my face look better than when I use a setting powder. Maybe I’m crazy idk. And on my lips I used the Too Faced Melted Matte liquid lipstick in Cool Girl.

If you have any questions or suggestions, let me know! Other than that, I think I’m gonna try and find some friends to hang out with so all this effort doesn’t go to waste! Have a good day yall! Tell someone you appreciate them and don’t forget to appreciate yourselves hehe.

💖, B
